After the earthquake of 1518, the town was rebuilt on a Renaissance layout around the Plaza Mayor, where the fortress church of La Encarnación stands out, built in the 16th century with its four towers to defend the population from the attacks of the era. It deserves an unhurried stroll: the terraces of the square, the Town Hall, the Convento de la Victoria, the History Museum and the traditional shopping streets, where you can shop away from the bustle of the coast.
